Fairness & Justice

Fairness can be a very abstract concept.
Nothing is fair in this world.
You might as well get that straight answer right now.
Expecting the world to treat you fairly
because you are a good person is a little like
expecting the lion not to have you for diner.
Life is never fair, and perhaps
it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.
Fairness is not an attitude
but a professional skill that must be developed.
Fairness is man’s ability to rise above his prejudices.
Be fair. Treat the other man as you would be treated.
Do unto others before others do unto you.
Being good is easy, what is difficult is being just.
Justice is a certain rectitude of the mind
whereby a man does what he ought to do in circumstances confronting someone.
The aim of justice is to give everyone his due.
Fairness is what justice really is.
Though force can protect in emergency,
only justice, fairness, consideration and
cooperation can finally lead men to the dawn of eternal peace.
Men ask for just the same thing,
fairness, and fairness only.
This, so far is what I can offer
and more that I can prove.
Let us keep our mouths shut,
and our pens dry until we know the facts.
Fair is foul, and foul is fair.
Hover through the fog and filthy air.
The fart of truth will get you there.
Life is not fair,  get used to it.
